32nd game. Looking forward to getting creamed now. It's lonely being the only lvl 13 in tournies. :-[

Congrats on making it to G1!

The competition is pretty good nothing like G0
but I think most G1's are pretty good.

Thanks guys. I could say the most important lessons I learned was to take your time and use straight balls when you have to use a player with a hook or a slice.
Looking through people's choices on clubs amaze me sometimes. Almost everyone uses the Big Magnum for every tournament. I would rather have control than power any day.

Congrats, CJ! I would agree that control is more important than power (unless you can flat-out putt), though I've heard there are tons of people on the JPN server who use big clubs to get to the greens on par 4s. Of course those guys are hardcore accurate, so they don't need that much control. Oh, and I never use straight ball, and I actually don't see many people doing so. Better to use a ball that improves a skill (or multiple skills like the Infinity ball) and compensate for the fade/draw with sidespin and course management. Just a suggestion!

Anyway, enjoy G1 and don't stress about getting to G0. Still not much variation in G0 tourneys and many of the top guys have left for the JPN server or other games (though sometimes they stop in to open up a can of whoop-a** on us every now and again).

Thanks for the advice Optimus. I appreciate it.

Oh my! Went from lvl13 to lvl15 in 2 rounds of standard play. -3 to -6 on a crown 9 hole and beat a -9 score with a -13 on an 18 hole of great safari. Maybe this can help out with you guys trying to figure out requirements for these "unknown" levels. Sorry, didn't write the point changes down.

Yeah, moving from level 13 to 15 can be pretty fast. I used only 2 or 3 tournaments after reaching level 14 before I got to level 15 myself. No all you need is a G1 win, and you'll be level 16 too. :)

I made it through G1 surprisingly fast myself, but I'm getting a major beating in G0. No pod in the next 6 and I'll be back myself too. Maybe just as well. It's more fun to compete at a level where I can actually make a few pods. ;)

I played my first tourney shortly after making g1, and got SMASHED!!! There is a big difference, at least as far as i could tell, in the skill level in the G2 tourneys and the G1.

In G2's, I could play fairly sloppy or conservative and still manage to pod or even be in the top percentage of most tourneys.

In my first G1 i mentioned above, i was 29th out of 33 @ silver peaks!! Talk about putting a damper on my G1 status celebration! LOL

LOL. I went through the same thing. Hang in there, it will get better with practice. These guys don't miss. Get a couple of tourney's under your belt and you will feel more comfortable.

Good Luck!

ALoha CJR!

Played with you a couple nights back!
You pretty darn good already.
That Nigh twas a homecoming of sort for me.
I haven't played OOB in almost 2 months.
I was having a hard time
adjusting back to the advance shot and reading greens
at first. It took a couple of tourneys to get comfortable
again.Keep it up you will be G0 in no time!
See ya around!
