View Full Version : Man, how come I can't do this well when it matters?

I just finished up my league match, with a -17 and then a -24 on Highland, reg tee. I'm usually in the -20/-21 range, so the -17 hurt, but my -24 came out of nowhere. My best before that was -23, so it just.... really shocked me, and it didn't make that big of a difference, considering my first score.

So now, I figure, "OK, I'll go ahead and do a practice Okinawa Long Tee run so I'm ready next week. My best so far is -19, so I can definitely improve."

Next thing I know, I had just made my eagle putt on 18, and finished with a -23. Well, that's just great, why couldn't I have saved that for next week, though.... ???

yeah well done , -24 is pretty good....... i can only manage -23 i'm afraid :(

i think i could push to 24 if i played it more.........maybe 25 if i got lucky and eagled the 1st hole......

but for some to shoot -27 , they need a kicking off a scottish size 10..........not that i'm jelous of course >:(

-27 needs 1 on at 6H + 3 long chip-in eagles/albas
Is that Mr. Satan?

Excellent scores, especially the -23 on oki. (i did not hit -23 in either round on highlands last night) Very good.

6h is pretty easy and not worth mentioning.  1h is the one you want to set tone for the round (and is usually the furthest of the short par 4's for your 2nd).

-27 is good, but i know there is a -29 and pretty sure i have seen atleast 1 -28.  Thought i saw 2 -28's in 1 day, they don't change names much over there but with the possibility you just never know.

yeah the first hole can be a pain ! also erm........is it 14th par 4 over the trees....if you dont get your PI SBS you may hit trees and say bye bye to eagle there? is that right ?

or you can get your PI and SBS perfect, and still hit the dang trees!!! lol

depends on where the pin is Clint, and what yardage and shot height you have. Typically a pin on the right (behind tree) I just load up on and take SSBS right to left and aim between trunk of tree and the little hill off to the right of it.

When pin is on left i go blue mode and figure if im on im on, and if im off im chipping :D

yeah man thats rough. I just don't understand how people put up the crazy 28 and 29. I mean how many holeouts do you need to reach 29?

Ja, -29 is pretty sick.

We forgot to mention earlier that hole 10 is very eagleable.

well take a perfect round of 25 as a basic , eagle 5's birdie the main ones, eagle the 2 par 4's ........gives you -25

so where to get 4 shots from wow!!! gotta get an alby for sure and maybe an ace at 17th

and yeah 2 chip in's.........

it's just brutal

MasonR, cars, Airscoots and KX as well as a few dozen jp G0 players.

You could do that with as few as 2 (short) hole outs. Exception would be if you drove #10, or #5, or #16, but those are all usually just out of reach even with wind helping and a huge drive.

#6 can be reached under pretty much all conditions, one exception being Novice/No Power/Standard.

:o

Uh.... so I start it up today, to practice G-Rex (I'm terrible at this course), first round through, -14 with an alby on hole 5. Not bad, so I try again. Hole 5 comes, and I get another alby. >__>

Now you guys watch. When we get to this course in the league, I'm going to get at least worse than par on 5... :-\
