With the Ps3 release coming soon, I decided to gather all the translation information in one spot for easy use for our users here on the forum. Since I don't speak Japanese these "Translations" are not to be taken as literal translations, but as a guide to navigate the menus in the game.

*When selecting a character pressing "Square" will toggle between right and left handed.

*All things in this guide are subject to change from future releases or patches. It can be used as a starting point for the upcoming Ps3 version of the game, but we won't know exactly the layout until release.

Obviously Special thanks to Shihiko for his continued dedication over at mingol.shihiko.net he has been a long term staple in the community and continues to give us up to date news and release info. Also thanks to Shihiko for the rules translations.

I highly recommend if you are planning to get the Japanese version of the game, that you learn the courses, rules, characters, and reg- long tee kanji so you can more accurately navigate your way around online.

Looking at the screen shots for "General Navigation" its a shame to see 1.04 for US and 1.09 for Japan and here we are still waiting for any update, even 1.05 will let us know we are not forgotten.

Thanks for the write up, I've got a few questions.
What are gauge shots, circle, arrow shots?
And what is TP?

mreighties

TP is Total Points and shows your total points from playing the Dailies. The points determine what rank position you will be in, in the dailies.

Guage, circle, arrow, advanced and traditional are the 5 shot types available to you in the game. I like circle cause it combines both shot types of advanced and traditional into one shot type.

Senidol, you're the man for taking the time to do all this. Thanks!

I actually checked back here today just to find some clues as to when the North American PS3 version will be released... ? Can't believe the Jap version is to be released next week...and still no estimated date for the U.S. version ?

what the...

We have word out to Envisager, and I'm still keeping an eye on all media outlets at my disposal for game release information. There has been 0 mention of a NA release, neither confirmed nor denied.

I'm sure you also keeping an eye out for any word on updates for the US, right?

like...duh. he just said that.

edit: maybe ur talkin about a vita update. (unsure)

It's sooo ridiculous when u think about it in general... all they gotta do is change the Text and Voices around and that should be it.. I could prolly do that in a day. they just want us to buy the jap version.

It's mostly Sony, Sony controls all the advertising, localization, and DLC. I've had a long standing bad history with Sony online games dating back to like 1999, they tend to be a frugal publisher, one that likes to put their fingers into development where they don't belong. And rarely do they put the consumer first. The entire lack of advertising, and information is almost entirely to blame on Sony. There is a reason why Sony and other Japanese products are starting to fail more frequently in the US.

For those that don't know, there is also a Hong Kong version of the game that connects to the Japanese server as well. But has yet to see any of the DLC that the Japanese store has. The only title currently getting full support is the Japanese copy. Sony needs to start thinking of the "ease" of use and users first before trying to protect against used game sales. There are multiple reasons why Xbox controls the majority of the console market in the US now.

The way I imagine it going down right now, is that Clap Hanz as a developer isn't specialized in English localization, and has very limited resources to attempt to do so. This is where Sony is "suppose" to step in and fill that gap, but are failing to do so. Either due to ignorance, or they don't feel like we are a market worth spending money on.

I agree, they still have that 1980's "i'm the big elephant in the room" mentality...they need to just chill ...and at-least try to be a more fun and open company. This is why their sales have been suckin so much...

let the developers do what they want, and stop flexin ur e-muscles.

It's like they think or act like they absolutely know what's going to be successful....without taking a more open mind approach..this is why their failing.

I play 360 more often since it's generally more fun of a community, and not as dark in general. (mood wise)

I guess sony does't need our euros and our dollars except on their terms.
why can't they offer it in the psn store at least we could buy it in english just put a disclaimer on it that gameplay is in japan.
also is there any news on if the cross play with the vita is actually going to work corectly?

I think the gameroom rules for the ps3 version are slightly different. So far I have worked out it is:

Match type: Real, 2 player stroke, Matchplay
Course
# of Holes
Tee
????

Rules:
-----Shot type
-----????
-----.....
-----????

????
????
More rules: I think these are who to let in, as there is a password menu too.
Name of game room

I've been trying to set it to novice characters only but i don't see the option. Maybe i need to unlock more characters in order to choose this rule?

yep there is a passwork setting we found that, my friend has pretty good idea what everything is except how to turn on the headsets. the menu is pretty big.
she has most everything unlocked except maybe one crown left I think.

Makes a lot of sense. Thanks John. It's a shame you can't specify what type of character to choose. I'll have to unlock some expert characters to stand a chance against other people, or hope they take pity on me and also choose a novice (which has happened a few times now).

thanks John great job there. only where is the headset option for the game?
i have many friends from all over the world who love the fact of chatting and playing
golf. do not really like to read and golf at the same time it's a feature that is in most games today why so elusive in this one, lol there is allways mute if your not into talking. it's such a social game to play why not talk?
