I just got Minna, though I have some questions/concerns...

Hi everyone! I thought I'd join in on the Minna fun and get my butt whipped at all times of the day rather than just during the 10am to 11pm on HSG. So I got it and downloaded the new courses and characters but nothing is showing up for me! Anyone know why? I haven't done the online update yet (the long one, that is-- there was never a system update prompt). But I have no clue why they aren't showing up. I downloaded and installed them twice.

Also, is there an overhead view for putting? If so, I don't know how to access it. Same goes for the transparent ball during chips.

The ghost ball was an update (probably the first update), didn't know about the overhead cam but I wasn't using it when I bought minna (all the time now though), that might've been an update at as well. Anyway, to get the overhead camera, hit R2 twice, not available with Trad shots.

Anyway, go online and get all the updates (buying courses and characters only unlocks them, the update actually has them), that's why nothing is showing up.

Thanks! I'll give it a go. Thanks are also in order for that game save on gamefaqs (that was you, right?). Though I kind of feel like I'm cheating by using it so I may just start fresh.

I had to do like 3 separate system restarting game/online updates. It took almost an hour w/ the install and online updates before i was able to play my 1st match.

Ha well don't expect too much from the gamesave, it just runs through the Challenge Mode (you still have to beat anya and check out the cool ending vid), there isn't much else like character loyalty, although some have a good start. Don't feel bad at all, all you're doing is saving yourself a day or two of offline play.

Ya, I'm going through that now. Though I heard elsewhere the update would be much longer than that, so I'm glad it's only around an hour.

And ya, Mason, that settles it. I'll just start fresh. Plus, having that -23 on highlands just doesn't feel right unless I do myself... lol.. my current pb there is only -20.

Overhead putting cam is definitely a part of the online update. Played all of 9 holes on Highland after getting Minna and was ready to give up on the game before someone mentioned the cam had been added in an update.

What is this "ghost ball" you speak of? How is it of any use?

Ghost ball is in Advanced Shots only, when you putt you'll see a transparent ball move in a straight line across your putting grid, this helps set the power you want.

Ah that one... a handy tool until it disappears about 4ft short of the hole on long uphill/downhill putts.

That's what the overhead camera is for, makes setting the power cake when using the 10m/30ft putter.

Ok someone help me out here. I've seen talk of this overhead cam before. Does it actually stay overhead when playing the shot so you can set your power exactly as you want for any length putt? Whatever view I use on EGWT to line up a putt when I go to take the shot it just defaults back to the behind the golfer view and ends up being guess work on long putts.

Hmm.. That functions for me in both EGWT and Minna.. Strange. Has there been an update for EGWT?

I have all the updates, I have an overhead view, I have a backwards view and I have an upskirt view (oh no I made the last bit up :)) but the moment I take my swing it defaults back to behind the golfer and I'm left guessing the power for long range putts.

Is this what you guys are talking about or is there some way of having the ghost ball visible from an overhead view of the cup when actually making the putt thus making it impossible to ever get the power of a putt wrong? ???

This is exactly what i meant.. I can see the yellow transparent ball moving looking upski.. umm.. while in overhead view thus completing the swing in its entirety, in both minna and egwt. No default resets or anything..
