There was a thread about this over on gamefaqs, but since I've no idea how many of you visit there, I figured creating a thread here too would be o.k.(I did search, but didnt find this thread already). If it isn't o.k., then please feel free to delete this thread.

Anyhow, does anyone have the crown? Un1k3n over at gamefaqs(don't know if he has a login here) posted a picture of it here http://un1k3n.tripod.com/thecrown

I know the running thought at gamefaqs was that it must have been an item that was only achievable via hacking the game with whatever they use to hack it. I know a hole in one on a par5 doesn't get you it :(

I'm just wondering if, by some small chance, one of you has gotten it and if so, how did you do it?

For those that have no idea what a ghost item is, say a developer creates a bunch of items in the game and no longer wants it to be there. Most of the time what they do is delete the ways to get the item without actually deleting the item itself (saves time). So the item exists, even though there is no way to get it during a game. But hacking gives you access to the code and you can then try and find the code to that item to receive it.


Anyway I will try over the weekend to see if this is the case or not. But I have only seen a few people have it so it must be a hacking item.

It almost makes it tempting to hack the game to just get that one item. then un-hack it after getting it. Of course I'm assuming that you don' thave to have the hack constantly running to use the item.

i think u have to get a hole in one on every par 3 in the game

since they do show a billboard stating that u did get a hole in one for that par 3

i wonder if thats the case...hmm.... sounds pretty logical i think seeing u do get a sign stating that u got a hole in one on that particular par 3

Out of Bounds and Everybody's golf also have hole in one signs and double eagle signs, that could be it but I don't think so considering the signs are seen in other games.

Someone needs to tell some of those guys about Rabbit/Turtle shots, it's not the Crown giving him a distance boost.

I would say that it's an item not available in the game but still in the game inventory, meaning you'd have to hack it to get it, it's not uncommon for that to happen. Either that, or it's as someone else said in that thread a jp only item.

I've played against him many many times, he never bailed on me.

Anyhoo, I'm going to be trying the hole in one on every par3 thing, but dunno how long THAT will take me.

I was going through my saved pictures, looking at them before I deleted them. I used to take pictures after rounds so I could study what costume pieces other players where wearing. Anyways, I didn't notice it at the time but I sure noticed it looking at it today. It's the character in the back row, second from the right.
