Told what our tactic was before the countdown ("Let's kick some JP ass!" (ass=uncensored on minna :P)) and you said it was going to be difficult. I mean when the Rangers are playing ManU you know it's going to be difficult but still want to kick ass! So change of attitude is required Clint ;)

BTW - After saying let's kick some JP ass in the countdown I flag eagled the first hole :P I hope some of the guys do understand English because if that was me on th receiving end I would be pissed off :)

Got my first G1 win :) :D ;D. Thunder God now. I know this isn't much but I was pretty pumped as haven't got a G0 win to my credit on HSG:OOB and this is as close as I will probably ever get. Still will get demoted though next tourney unless I can get a 2nd or higher. :'(

Again congrats cars, first one is the toughest, it really only gets easier as you go.

I myself, just bagged #14 at Oceania, Kratos, Rough +2, 9hole out . No highlights this time. Missed a bird on 3 by 14 cm, drove #5 to 8 feet to make up for it. Birdied the rest and eaged #7 as well. Edged out some poor sucker by 10 points (2520 to 2510) after he hit it to a foot on #9 and I made a putt from the 10 point range. Water skip on #1 definitely helped me there.

Kinda funny though. scoots and I jumped in the tourn thinking about bailing for a Dino/Crown game and said we'd just blast it around and see what happened, probably wouldn't try to drive #5 with Kraptos if it was 18 holes of Rough +2 but I pulled off a lucky non-pi shot to a few meters and it vaulted me to the lead, kept it inside the rings on everything but #8 but made a nasty downhiller for bird anyway.

Some jerk quitting screwed up the humor of my promotion. I was 3rd, s/he quit so I got the 2nd place points.

So in "reality" I promoted from g3 to g2

4 games played and 4 pods (no wins or 2nds)

and from g2 to g1

11 games played and 6 pods (no wins or 2nds)


Still can't win a tourney. I would've promoted earlier, but some DUMB attempts and bad 4 hole stretches, cost me.

Just picked up #18!

-23 Oceania Reg Tee, 5000ish points, Dino Only and No Distance rule. No hole outs except a 14y spiral eagle on 5, hit every green in regulation and didn't miss a putt. A full two shot victory and the #3 score on the leaderboard.

smug was in the field, great to have a friend there, definitely helps keep my mind off what the other guys were doing.

Thanks guys, I can't get enough of those Dino tournaments lately, guy is just beyond good with his spin stat. Hell I missed PI on 12 and still held the green (!). lmao. Also got away with a loose drive on 7, but thankfully I hit it over all the crap instead of >in< the crap. A 2 shot victory is rare over there and I'm just happy I was able to keep it together. Couple lucky breaks in the middle but you kinda need those, and that shot on 18 was just too sweet. Powered 5w to 9 feet, perfect below the hole. I didn't have a single downhill putt all round either, one thing I always try to avoid.

Yeah, Dino and Oceania seems like a good combo. Remember getting a G1 win with a PB on LT with him there a long time ago. That PB stood until just a few weeks ago, even after numerous attempts with other characters. Maybe I'll give him a few new goes and see if I can raise my PB even more. -23 isn't quite within reach for me yet, though, I think. ;)

First was a 18h Oceania LT Sackboy tour with no aiming indicator

2nd was a 18h Dino LT Intermediate tour with no distance remaining condition

Most proud that they were 18h tours, I really stayed with the person who came in 1st in the Dino round but his eagle on 17 hurt my real chance and a DUMB rabbit attempt to clear the sandtrap on the 18 drive cost me a chance at 2nd but I don't give a crap...for now.

Now all I need is a win in my last 3 games of this block not to be demoted...

Good old Easter Event... Means I am having great fun over in Japan.

Got my second win in 4 tours (the other two were podiums) earlier to get myself promoted to G1. Was a weird event in which there was no indicator arrow... Threw me at first but managed to settle down and get into it. I had built a three-shot lead by the last - thanks mainly to a mixture of skill, luck and the chip-in eagle on 15 (below). Played it safe at the last and should have birdied but didn't mind lipping a silly short downhiller, knowing I was safe.

I just got a nice G1 win....

Started off quite poorly in an Alex (Yukino) only, chip-in req, rough +2, G-Rex 9in... but caught fire from the 13th. Was joking with PJ (he was in the same tour) that maybe I should aim for fringe on 16 as it was getting late in the round - or hole out. Then I did exactly the latter to shoot up to 2nd. Even better on the 17th... I found the green in two and sank a monster 16m (52.5ft) backdoor for eagle and I was suddenly top. Held my nerve on the tricky 18th to get a lovely p.i and backspin to under 2m to seal the deal. A very satisfying final 6 holes.

Got TWO pods today in g0 - first one I don't want to talk about, choked away the win. Not an exaggeration. It was Sophie, Safari 9in LT with no wind speed indicator.

But I'm much more proud of my, Oki 18h RT Expert new pb of -22 (-21 on HSG) - got a nice eagle out to put my IN the pod mix rather than on the outskirts looking in then out on each hole, the eagle miss on 18 didn't bother me much cause I knew my points sucked even if the top two only got a birdie...so f'n yay for me Billie!!!

I know this is a "victory" thread, but I'm happy. And I swear I won't post again til I win one of these.

I just picked up #22, shot -11 at Jurassic, 9IN, with 2700 points (new pb, not just on points). Shot clear of the rest and had the points advantage as well. Good for 2nd place on the leaderboard too.

Ok so I should caveat that this is only a G1 win, but I've been on a bit of a dry spell lately so I was pumped nonetheless (also, it always feels good to win a 50-man tour). Tour was at Oceania with rough +2. Was in a really good position after the deag at #11 and even moreso after my bird at #12 (there was a down wind, and 60%+ hit rough). However, I myself connected with rough on hole #16 and dropped back to second. Fortunately, I managed to eag the last and as you'll see, the sad panda with a party hat who dropped from first to third didn't fare so well.

Great stuff, two shots even in a rough +2 (or especially) is a very good win. The caveat G1 isn't much of a deal considering you'll get a bigger asswhooping there than G0 on OOB.

Just won #23 in a Highland tournament with Maruyama (!), No Power. -23 and some points. Two riserflags and the rest on the green in normal fashion. Seemed like every time someone holed out for an eag or alby they'd par the next hole. Surprising for me because I actually kinda hate Maru, hate his PI timing, good thing Highland doesn't call for high PI.

A good break from the event GFs on our server, after another tournament or two here it's back to the grind.

Well, it gives me something else to shoot for as I tear my hair out trying to get elusive win #1 in g0...

Any I acquired win #14 in g1 tonigh - nothing spectacular, a non-peak time win to be sure but it looks the same in the record books. :)

Maybe if I never bought Minna I would have played HSG during the month or two of tours every 20 minutes seemingly and reached 30 wins for lvl 20 and maybe not...but I'm pretty damn happy with how well I've done on Minna...

And besides, 19 HSG wins and 14 Minna wins...is 33...so I am a lvl 20...in a twisted warped math kinda way

Dude, after saying I never reach the green in two...I actually REACHED the green in two (Crown Hole 9 RT with Sophie) and was under 3 meters away...and I "f'n choked" the eagle putt....granted it really was awkward as heck but very makable...I was a little lucky the guy in first parred...

2nd time I shot a pb and didn't get the win, can't even complain much about my failed riser eagle, it was only one more shot. This was a Minna round to be sure, Alby on 2, Alby Ace on 5, multiple Eagle outs (one by me) :)

Nabbed my first win since my Mr. promo. Sonia highland In LT, -12. I was the only person who went Bmag/Inf (funny I used to think >those< guys were aggressive). I was the only eag on 14, everyone else laid up, and was the only -10 to eagle the 18th.

Don't know how anyone thought that 14 shouldn't have been attempted but what do I know, there were 3 eagles per on every other hole. Doubt any of them understood the "man up, ladies" comment after being the only eagle on 14, but maybe they took a hint. Definitely didn't think -12 would win though after the first two, as two guys were already -4. Oh well yay me.

Have leveled off (stuck at Level 18) on HSG:OOB, so decided to try Minna, which I started several weeks ago. I got to G0 yesterday. Today I picked up my first G0 victory in my third tour. A very nerve wracking, but very satisfying round (Safari LT, 9H Out, Gloria, Standard/Standard). :)

Decided to load up Minna and saw a nice little G0 at Rex coming up with some slots available......

To say I played my best round of online golf ever is a bit of an understatement.

No pars, aced 11 and got a homing eagle on 16 before landing within a couple of metres for another eagle on the par 5 17th. Was shaking like a leaf on the 18th as I was only leading on points. Managed a lovely p.i. approach to a flat section of the green and the victory was assured.

Added bonus is that it is also top of the rankings. :D

Conditions: G-Rex 9-in RT Expert only. I used Sapphire (Anya).

good golf guys! me too won my 1. minna-g0, it was a perfect round 9in LT Okinawa with Yukino/Alex. Managed 3 holes rain and got 1 Ace, 1 Spiral and almost another Ace as i slowly hit the pin... i'm happy :)

I intend to play Minna a lot more than HSG in future as waiting for tours to fill keeps me up until well after midnight. Always a good few hundred online in Japan slap bang in my timezone. Logical step really.

Well, no pic, but I took second in my first Minna tourney. Also, strangely enough, I got an albatross on my first day. Spent weeks trying to make that happen in the US version... lol

I'd love to get out of G3 quickly, but from what I'm reading (and seeing in the players on here), it's gonna be nasty getting out of G2... :)

Edit: Three tournies, placed 2nd, 2nd, 3rd. Like it or not, G2 is where I'm at now. :)

G2 is not so bad. G1 is the worse . Because of the point system you'll see ton of Mr [ level 20 ] in G1. Good luck.

G0 there is not as tough as some people make it out to be, be wise with your tour selection and stay focused on the prize. I dont play much anymore in japan but i did pod in my first 2 g0 tours and got through g1 in a block with little difficulty.

Kronzzz, what do you think of Highland in Minna? I don't even like playing Highland in OOB in G0, I can't imagine Minna. :p

Is it best to play Peaks and Crown and the occasion that it's a rainy tour? I hear those are the few circumstances where it's not too difficult to get pods because Minna players aren't used to those kinds of tours.

I don't play Minna much as I have been trying to get to Level 19 (one victory away) in what little time I put into OOB nowadays. But I am happy to say I survived my first G0 block of 20 games (in a four month span) in Minna with one victory and two 2nds, with no other pods (losing out on points) surprisingly. I am finding the character only tours using Sasha and Sophie not found in OOB to be to my disadvantage. As Kronzz said, careful selection of tours is probably wise.
