I think Jurrassic is harder. Perhaps it's because I have more experience at Crown but it, just seems that there is more to Jurrassic that I just plain don't get. How to approach Hole 2, how to judge the approach at Hole 7 when the hole is like 3 meters from the water, how to reliably hit that little patch of green at hole 12 and how to reach the green in 2 strokes at hole 17 *without* an expert with high trajectory. That amongst other things.

I was playing some stroke last night with some good players and learned a few things, but it seems that there is so many unorthodoxed techniques to reach the tiny fairways, like a 441 yd mountain roll at hole 5.

So, my vote is Jurrassic.

2, just layup unless you're offline or in a gameroom. There are several lay up spots, don't bother laying up to the edge of that fairway unless into the wind or you have a high spin stat. Nothing wrong with laying up to 100y either, I'll take birdie there every single time. You might see one or two eags but really it's not worth it unless you're very well practiced on the specific conditions you're faced with.

#17, I always lay up to about 240-260 off the tee, you'll have roughly 300 to the hole which can be reached with a Intermediate rabbit/turtle and even a novice if downwind and getting the full boost. At the worst play to the little fairway spot for a tolerable chip. I don't imagine you're seeing a crazy amount of eags here with Novice and Ints anyway, just make sure you bied at the worst.

7 and 12 escape me at the moment, been a couple days since I played Jurassic.

Getting your tee shot in position is much more of a priority at Jurassic than the other courses, but the approaches aren't as difficult as you'd think. Sidespin helps more here than the other courses as well (for Ex, try Anya with Inf/Big Air, she keeps her sidespin, works very well). Stay on the correct tier below the hole and make your putts. 270 every hole isn't really gonna happen but a score is really all you need here, it's rarely a points-fest.

Jurassic probably has the edge now for most people simply because we've been playing Crown for a year now, but I'd still give the difficulty edge to Crown. You can get by without needing to hit PI as often as you would on Crown. Greens at jurassic are easier to putt as long as you aren't on the wrong tier (whereas at Crown if you're on the wrong tier then you're probably off the green).

Experience means a lot but if we're talking shot for shot I would say it's a bit easier to play Jurassic than Crown.

Practice the par 3s in training mode with a variety of characters to get the hang of it, easier birds than you'd think if you just hit the green below the hole, avoid the dumb OB that can creep up on you and you'll be fine.

yeah i think crowns is harder yet my best score on both jurrasics is like -8 or something......

but thats down to experience on crowns , im sure when i first played crowns even as a decent g1 player i was probably only at -5 or -6 who knows.....

but take oceania when it came out.....i dont think we all shot -14 on our first few games did we?, i certainly did not.

i really think its just down to playing it and murdering it to be honest

i would say that if i played offline with gloria std(LT), intermediate std (reg tee) assuming this as our potential G0 tours........then i would shoot -14 minimun after a given number of rounds

I'm not a big fan of Jurassic. There are too many stupid obstacles in the way throughout the course. On certain holes trees appear from nowhere and then if you do manage to keep it on the fairway you can sometimes find a phantom rock, boulder, volcano is in the way. The worst thing is the saturation of colour throughout the course. I've had problems on both Okinawa and Oceania in the past due to the brightness on the greens interfering with the grid lines. I know this isn't just me but because i wear glasses with quite a high prescription it's seems to hit me a little harder. Jurassic is by far worse for me for some reason, i can play tee to green with a few issues here and there but the moment i get on the green i tend to have a real problem reading the grid/green because of the brightness of the greens grass.
However over all i think that the course's difficulty is somewhere in between Peaks and Crown but like clint said earlier in the thread Crown is still the harder of the two. Most of us that have played Crown in G0's are accustomed to the course by now in both good and bad conditions. It will take a bit of time for us all to become used to the new course, find those shortcuts and little tricks that make certain holes easier. I wouldn't be surprised if when it appears on the international server g0's will be bombarded with Jurassic rain tournies, novice tournies and nothing else so it won't take us long to get used it.

Yeah I really hate oceania with the brightness, It kills me. I am glad to see they are making a new course with the same bad conditions :)

yeah how many times have you missed PI in a bunker at oceania due to backlight obscuring the impact zone...........grrrrrrrrrrr

Can't see the radio buttons to vote but my vote is on JP. The number of fairway obstacles is huge. The long par 3's are always a hassle. Even for the locals JP poses a challenge so I play a bit more often than I should probably :P

If you cannot see the buttons, you must have already voted right?

let me simplify things here.........

you cannot say which is harder as the basis is wrong.......

your basing this on probably played crowns 150 times and jurrasic 20 times

if you ask me right now......i say jurrasics harder, if you ask me once i have played an equal amount of G0 games on jurrasic as crowns then ill say jurrasic is easier.

so you cant compare unless its like for like so bin the poll

I think it all comes down to course experience here. Jurassic is tough, but Crown is still king. I'm still not sure where to place many of my drives on the course, but with all of 12 rounds logged at Jurassic my PB shows -16. Probably took me 150+ rounds at Crown to put up that kind of score.

crown is harder but, like mace said if u get in the right spot on the green putting is ok, one thing here is on some holes better not to pi and roll down to the pin the slopes on some greens let u. hole 2 u can rabbit, l tee is a bit harder o.

The greens on jurassic are ridiculous, even when comparing them to crown. I think crown is easier on regular tee than jurassic and the opposite for long tee. There are just too many holes where you have to depend on good bounces and such on jurassic for my liking. It is a very fun course to play, but some of the greens on the back 9 are just downright evil.

I'd like to add one comment.

Downpour @ Jurassic will bring about the most ridiculous set of circumstances you'll ever see. Drizzle isn't killer but 93-95 or 88-95 just spells done. Downpour makes it the most difficult course I'd say. If it rains it'll keep raining, just cross your fingers and take no worse than par. I've layed up 3 times on #5 Long Tee in the rain before, and have been happy with a 5.

The first week smug and I took the course out for a test drive...I think it rained for 7 of the 9 holes on the front and one hole on the back. We were just bashing it about but still trying to play well, I think we both shot over 40 for the front but under 30 on the back. Just that kind of place.

I mean this is on Minna and I saw it rain for 6 holes straight in a tournament...never more than 2 holes in a row on any other course my entire time there.
