I just joined, glad I found the community! I have conquered the normal (meaning not online) game without much challenge, just time. I would love to start participating in online events, I've played a few random events, won one. How do I get started here? Or am I too late ???

Anyway, I look forward to being a part of this community!

Welcome!

No you're not too late. What you want to do is to look for G3 (not GF) tournaments with at least 10 people in it. The tournaments don't count to your numbers unless there are at least 10 people in it when it starts. When looking at the tournament pages online, use L2 and R2 to browse floors. There are 10 floors per hour slot, and G3 tournaments can show up anywhere. Usually they don't fill up unless on floor 1, but when you get to G2 you'll need to go through all the floors to find the tournaments...

You get 4 points per win, 3 for 2nd and 2 for top 20% finish (3rd to 10th place, depending on the number of participants in the tournament). When you get 8 points you get to G2, then you'll need 20 points in 20 games for G1 and then 30 in 30 for G0. One block is 1-20, 21-40 etc, if you don't manage 20 points in those games your points will reset and you'll have to try to do it in the next 20...

Game rooms are also fun, and often useful for picking up a few pointers...

I find it so hard to find a g3 10+ player tournament when I play online (maybe because I from Australia).There are usually 10+ g3s around but they never hardly go in the tournaments or they only go in the gf tournaments(or they got no idea lol). :(

To quote someone from before, our g3's are stupid. Not all of them, but most of them don't know what they are doing.

Well if you need some help and you are really having trouble finding matches, maybe I can come on and create a new account and help you out.

Also, make sure you go on peak times. I realize we don't have alot of people, but at some points there are a decent amount of people to get a game with.

I thought the EXACT same thing....but you'll be surprised at how conisistent you become after a few games! I was intimidated by the G0's, g1's and even g2's at some point, but that quickly dissipated after playing more games you see yourself getting better. I became G0 several weeks ago and they are mopping the floor with me right now. So, i feel like i'll NEVER reach G0 right now, but i'm sure its just a matter of time.

And just so you know, there is no restriction to g3. you just need to score a certain amount of points and you advance.

Every other level after that, you need to score a certain amounts of points in a certain amount of games.



And yeah practice makes perfect. When I first came on, Morpheus wasn't great. The other day we played on Okinawa and he was leading the room at the turn with a -10. It just shows, that if you keep on playing, you will get better.
