I was just wondering what part of this game most of you find more enjoiable tournaments or gamerooms setup with friends
or other?

Game rooms for me. I like the odd tournament now and then, but game rooms are usually more fun, IMHO. :)

I play 'em all. G0 tourneys, GF tourneys, game rooms of all formats (real, stroke, and match). They're all fun in my book. I don't like how match play games end after somebody goes 3up though. That's just F'n retarded. But, if I had to choose, I'd have to pick the official tourneys. When you've got a pack of Level 20's nipping at your heels with four holes to go, that's a mix of fear and exhilaration that no other format can touch. Period. Plus, it keeps a record of your stats. Jesus, if I could see my game room stats, I think I'd have as many wins as Mace. (Uh oh, that sounded like boasting. I better complain a little just to even it out.)

sure I can have both, don't mind actually, but GF is highly recommended on match plays because you can play faster with some familiar ppl here. ;D
What's more is that if you are in a hurry, you can ask others to beat you, or you try to beat your rival as fast as possible (don't scrafice your shot quality!). That's why sometims 3up and then called is good to both players, even 1 suffers a bad lost. ;)

Tournaments by a mile...game rooms can be fun, but I find myself trying crazy shots/new paths/water skips/anything out of the ordinary...and eventunally the round just kinda slums along. Where as tournaments are pure focus right from the start.

No contest for me...

1. Tournaments
2. Offiline (for speed golf)
3. Gamerooms

Tours are never fun unless I'm winning. ;D

Seriously though, tours are fun if you give me variety. But overall, I prefer playing in gamerooms (stroke play) with friends.

i am with doylev on gamerooms

i am probably the worst in a gameroom and lesser players get excited when they beat me not realising i am trying turtles/rabbits..........silly STS shots downhill to a green, just really having fun and trying things out.

so i prefer tours but enjoy playing matchplay and having a chat with partner over 9 holes

well here is how I feel about the subject
it really depends on what you want
I personally like the gamerooms with others where you play along side each other comment on shots and learn or teach or just bust chops
for fun.
Second favorite is Gf tours as long as they are something difficult and there are people in it.
Third would be the ranked tours for the fact that people somtimes take it so seriously and comment and complain about how hard it is
maybe thats the reason I find those games frustrating?
:) :)

I really like gamerooms, especially with higher level players, so I can watch how they play certain holes, find new angles I didn't realize were there, or could get away with. I also like ranked tours, the taking every shot as carefully as possible.

My favorites are the ones on here first. The website tournaments and ladder challenges.

Then I am a ranked tourney addict.

Game rooms are fun, but not too fun to play exclusively. I like stroke games with a few good pals, but they take so long I can never finish.

I am with Clint on this one, I go "oooo lets see if I can hit it over there for the hell of it" so I rarely break a pb in a game room, even w/ advance player.

It's about an even split, I think. I really enjoy ranked tours, but I also love a match or stroke game room.

In a stroke game room, though, I'm kinda whiny in that I don't wanna play 18 and I really want only three players. Also, it's only fun to the extent that the other people playing also like a game room enough to not friggin' quit after a bad hole. I think it's cool when someone is trying wacky shots and not really going all out to win -- I often do the same, because a game room is supposed to be fun.

Lately the ranked tours have gotten really fun because they've gotten really, really hard. Been a G0 for more than a month, and not even gotten a pod. Kind of a downer in one way, but also really really invigorating as it pushes me to compete harder, and its just hugely exhilarating on those times when I play well enough to get close to all those Level 20s. Unlike in a fun game room, I think most people bring it for ranked tour.

Probably get demoted when I get to the end of the block, though ...

tourns over offline play over headset match play over gamerooms.
I live for the g0 tourns so when we get 10 and some1 leaves 34 seconds before it starts, lowering it back down to 8, i get more than a little peeved. selfish.

I mostly play gamerooms, there I could careless if I lose, unlike when I play in a tour.

Hmmmm....kind of split 50/50 on this. I actually still have quite a few characters that aren't even maxed out yet, so lately I have been using the gamerooms mostly, to build their loyalty up while at the same time making a few new friends or playing with old ones.

But i generally ENJOY the tourneys better, as it gets my adrenaline pumping a little faster knowing that every shot is precious, as opposed to the more layed back attitude i may have in a gameroom.

I whole heartedly agree with this statement.

Game rooms are fun to learn/watch others play.
But tournaments no room for error or kiss that POD goodbye.
