How do you get Mika?

I have had no luck at all getting Mika following RD's walk through. I have gotten multiple chip-in's at hole 12 of Nakagawa but she does not appear for me.

For those who did manage to get Mika, how did you do it? What hole did you chip in at? What character did you use? When and where did she appear? Any help is appreciated.

Do you have to play the long tee version to get her?

Need more help then that. I have chipped in numerous shots at hole 12 and still have not see Mika anywhere. Where does she appear when you have done it correctly? Do you have to have a specific character to get her? Is it regular or long tee for the course?

I have had no luck using several different characters from both regular and bonus lineups. Have used Rio, Alia etc. but still no joy. :-[

I think I used Alice when I got her, and I think you need to chip in on hole 11 instead of 12. She's positioned near the green on hole 12, right? That means you can talk to her before you hole out, which also means she won't have seen your chip-in by then. If you chip in on the hole before it should work, I think. When I got her she said something like "I saw you chip in on the other hole there..."

So it's definitely one of the holes before you meet her you should chip in on. :)

Cartman is right you need to chip on the previous hole, is that not in my walkthrough? I need to fix that if it isnt

I actually think you can chip-in on any hole before the 12th and get her. If I remember correctly, I got my chip around hole 8 or 9 and still got her.

I'll try that out. Hope I can unlock her, too! For a character that was unlocked from the start in Open Tee, it's a bit complicated to get her!

That might work Zero if i saw her at all, but i do not. I have chipped in shots many times and have yet to see Mika in any shape or form. So chipping in at 12 then completing the course and repeating it does not really work for me. As i spent quite some time repeating the chip in's at hole 12 many times over and over and getting nothing. I also tried chipping in at holes 11 and 14, same story. I have yet to see Mika at all.

It really should not be this difficult to get a novice character. I did not have that much trouble getting all the other characters, of which i have all except Gloria, Chad and the infamous Mika.

You have to talk to her before you chip in the shot, so look for her near the building about halfway around the loop of the course. Then, chip in the shot.....finish the round and play another round. You should get her during the next round at the same hole.

So you only need to talk to her, chip in the shot, then repeat the course and she will be at hold 12 waiting for you? It's not as easy as it sounds for me as chip-ins are by luck for me mostly. heh ;D

You need to chip in on hole 11, before you talk to her. But don't you see that yellow flash thingy on hole 12, to help you find her? That sounds like a bug if not... :-\

Well the flash thingie for me is white, not yellow. And no i never saw it, but then again if i am not looking in the right area i guess missing it is not impossible.

So you are saying..chip in at hole 11, then talk to her during hole 12? You don't have to play Nagakawa twice?

OK, I just ran through it again using an old game save that I had on a different Memory Stick.

The first time I played Hole 12, using the aerial view after making my tee shot, I saw the flashing "thingy" at the edge of the water behind the little building. When I approached it, Mika said that she liked "chip-ins" or something like that.

I then proceeded to the green and chipped in the shot.

I finished my round (for loyalty purposes only) and then played another round.

When I got to Hole 12 again, after my tee shot, I approached the flashing "thingy" again...LOL

Mika said "I saw that chip-in! Let's play a round together!
Mika is now your BFF.

She is now in my character choices....

I don't know whether it matters what character you're using when you make the chip in or approach her the next round, but it seems to me that when I was using Frau Ada, I didn't see the flashing "thingy". I was playing with Luke when I chipped the shot in at 12 and also using him when I replayed the next round.

I played a second round at Naka 9h IN after making my chip-in on Hole 12 and finishing the round.

When I got to Hole 12, the flashing thing was in the same spot as before (near the building at the edge of the water) and I approached her again. That's when I got her. I was using Luke at the time...I don't know if it matters what character you're using.

You do not have to chip in the shot at 11, you have to chip it in at 12. The reason you have to go back and play another round is that once you chip it in, you are finished with Hole 12 and can't do anything but advance to Hole 13. I was playing Reg Tee.

The third time after chipping in twice at hole 12 then going on for another round i saw the flashy thingie and got her. The third round i put the default head and body on Luke, no idea if that helped or not, but i did get her while i did have that. heh Maybe it likes you to have the default setup for getting specials?

Congratulations!! :) I am so glad that you finally got her. I know she's just a small, novice player, but you will need all of the characters to be able to get Gloria. I don't know if having the default character set up for Luke made any difference because I was playing him with different clothes, hair and accessories when I got Mika.

I'm just so glad that you finally did it and I hope that some of my suggestions/experience helped.

Im also trying to get mika I tried birdie chipping-in the shot at hole 11 b ut she doesn't appear.

Does playing a round of 9(In) holes help in bringing her out or should I the whole 18 hole course of Nakagawa or should I play the mirror courses

What I did is a chip in shot on Hole 12, then start another round and when I saw the flashing object I approached it with the camera view and was able to get her.

Note : I was only able to get her when I chipped in on hole 12. Before that she wouldn't even appear.

Also note that you could shoot the ball on the fringe closest to the hole purposely to set you up for a chip in, that's what I did.
