Everyone Gets An "X" for Profile Pics!

Just wonder what happen to everyone's profile pics (I can see some are not, but most of them are), everyone gets an "X". :)

Yeah, your filtered poppers. All I see is an X where your avatar should be. This is a recent thing too, wasn't like this a couple of days ago.

I guess thats bcuz the X is crossing out the Anaheim Ducks from the playoffs. ;)

I think I figured out why. I normally just upload directly from my computer, I do not use photobucket, ect.

Now I went to change my profile pic and it is not giving me an option to upload from computer.

That is the reason ppl are coming up with x's i think. They need to change it to a photobucket now, no more direct upload..... :'( :'( :'(


I just removed that functionality yesterday. I am going to make an announcement later today.

Our site was vicitim to a hacker attack about a week ago. The hacker used the ability to upload an avatar to upload malicious code to the site. That caused attachments and attached avatars to be corrupted.

As a result, i am taking the precaution of removing the ability for members to upload avatars. Members will have to either use one of the preselected avatars or link to an image hosted on another service (photobucket, flikr, a personal web hosting account, etc.)

Morph, is the profile pic size set at 150 x 150? I had a smaller pic that I linked to and it seems to have stretched it out to fit 150x150. Maybe it's just the computer I'm on.

Yes -- as a maximum, it would be better --- then photographs can be displayed without being distorted (so long as neither the height nor width exceed 150)....

On another message board I belong to you can change the size of your avatar pic. Think 100 x 100 is the max there.
