Swimsuit

tldr: Need Swimsuit! I'm at Black rank, any help?

Alright guys, here's the situation.

I do not have the swimsuit so that means no Patricia, and from what I hear no Gloria.

I've tried every other beach related attire. Bikini, hula dress, wetsuit.

I've played maybe 42 Black rank tournaments, I haven't actually won anything that wasn't a duplicate for maybe 10 games, and I always get 2 choices.

Is it possible to win the swimsuit in one of those capsules? If not, can it still show up as a rare prize in these Black rank tournaments? I haven't seen a rare prize in maybe 30 games.

If I go down and play Bronze tournaments can it show up as a rare prize there?

this is at the point that i never touched the game again on my PSP.

i could not get her and i refused to look up gamefaqs to cheat lol.

i had blitz i think dressed in swimming trunks ......anyway i just binned playing after that because everything is slightly off in comparision to HSG OOB , like putting and wind......so it threw me off a bit on the big boys version

so im not sure mason sorry , rowdy will know he's a PSP HSG freak mate ( in the nicest terms of course)

I won the swimsuit as a bronze rare item. Do you still have items to unlock, because you might still need to get it. By the way, what characters are you using to meet with her. I am not sure but I think the character needs to be male.

Yeah dawg you're right you need to use a male character wearing the swinsuit so mason you'll have to go back to the bronze rank and continue to play until you get the rare item. Thats where i got the swinsuit as well.
Then when you do this you can go after gloria, you'll need to cross dress chad, you'll know when you've done it right cause his lips will appear to have lipstick on them. (I think i used the flamenco dress)Then you'll be able to meeat gloria for drinks on the links. If memory serves its hole 16 on fortress yard and she's having a drink at the table of the cafe off to the right of the tee.

But I am not sure you can still win items from a category that is dark. Maybe you can, I am not sure.


But try to get all the black items first. As long as they are still lit up, there is more items to get.

But wouldn't Mace have had to win this item while in Bronze rank? "Rare" or not, I was under the impression that you still acquired each of those items. In the case that this doesn't hold, I guess he'd have to win it in Black mode, which is annoying.

By the way, the whole "pick a prize and hope you don't already have it" system is quite possibly the dumbest idea ever.

Yep I'm around 60 black rank tournaments in I have not won a new item
in ages... I mix up the courses and characters and I still keep picking the same
item over and over and over!

It is really getting annoying.

Yeah I don't have any problem trying to meet Patricia, it was just I never had the swimsuit.

Probably a dumb question - but any chance you've got something that's even swimsuit-like? It was a while ago when I followed the FAQ instructions to unlock characters, but I do recall that a couple of the directions weren't 100% accurate. Might be that any male character with some sort of swimsuit-like costume will unlock her.

Well I've tried the Bikini, Aloha style, wetsuit, hula costume and even jungle queen costume. Doesn't work. >:(

I'd like to follow up my dumb question with a dumber one - you ARE using a male character when trying to unlock Patricia, correct?

Okay i've just re-read the thread, question then? have you played the Bronze rank to the point of "black-out" where you can't win anymore items at all and all the comps are just for "fun". If you haven't then you need to go back and play the remainder of the bronze ranks tourney's and the trunks will appear as a rare item.
The way i did it was to play until each level was blacked out and then moved on to the next regardless of being able to play silver etc.
I've now got the black level completely blacked out so i can win anything else unless i go online - or find something i've missed hidden on one of the courses.

That's how I did play. Everything is blacked out with the exception of the Black Rank (lol pun) tournaments. :-[

Perhaps Mace lacks sufficient game to impress / unlock Patricia. Sorry man, that stuff has to come naturally, not from an FAQ.

Ugh, this game can go blow itself. I just started a new game because I was bored and thought I might as well try. Guess what shows up as a rare prize in my first Amateur tournament? Effin swimsuit.
