From my experience playing G0 on OT2, it seems like the vast majority of people join tournaments on the World server, and not the domestic one. Does anyone here play domestic tournaments on any regular basis - and if so, is there any advantage / benefit to sticking with the domestic tournaments?

There's two sets of comment cards that you can only get on the Domestic Server. I've hung out on the Domestic Server for hours and can maybe get one match if I'm lucky. It's just a ghost town.

That prompts a follow-up question - what exactly is a comment card? I've heard them referenced in passing, but don't really understand their signifigance.

It gives you extra comments to say online. There really isn't any point to it since it bears no effect on the game.

You can't chat online for open tee 2 like you can for out of bounds. out ouf bounds you can type whatever you want. Open Tee 2 you have to choose from preselected comments. Really dumb if you ask me.

And if you play on the domestick server, the comments are horrible. They must think we are all cowboys from the 1800's because the comments seem like that is who they are made for.

I've consistently thought the pre-selected comments on the World server were some of the worst possible choices. Now I'm tempted to play a domestic round just to see how hilariously bad those comments are.

They are really horrible. It's embarassing.

The World server comments aren't anything great but at least they're somewhat useable to some small degree. And the world server comments are fairly benign. The Domestic server comments are so childish and stupid that the few times I've played on the domestic server I've scrolled through the comments trying to find one that I didn't think was stupid, arrogant, slightly offensive or just mean. Out of some 50+ choices I think there's about five or six that are useable (besides the emoticons).

I sometimes wonder if that's one of the factors that keeps the domestic server so quiet.

I have done the same thing. There is no good comments on the domestic server.

After getting an explanation of the comment cards yesterday, I went home (when I finally got home from the office, which was at ~1am unfortunately) and picked up the two international comment cards. Am I misunderstanding, or do the two cards only add like 5 lines of potential additional pre-set comments? The comments in each category looked exactly the same, with the only change being that I have another category to choose from that is simply labled "comments" now.

Yes, you now have a new category called comments with a few extra lines you can say. pretty cool huh ::)

Did you get a chance to play a game on the domestic server yet and try out those comments :)

Haven't yet had the opportunity to check out domestic server comments, but it's definitely on my to-do list. Just hope I'm even able to spot someone else hanging around in that ghost town of a server.

Yep, something like:

"What's the hold up?"
"I am my only enemy."
"Got to take chances."

Thrilling stuff. :P

Smug I think I just played you on the domestic server.

So what do you think of the beautiful array of comments

Haha, those domestic comments were fantastically horrible. Congrats on the win, by the way. I was really surprised to be able to find someone on that server, it was literally the only time I tried starting a tournament there, so pretty random that you spotted me and managed to jump in.

I really don't know what they were thinking when writing the domestic server comments. Maybe they were written by some spiteful employee who knew they were about to get fired. I mean really - "I'm not eating chili again", "Give me your credit card", "See you at the club"... :-\
