First, this forum is nice, hopefully we can get people to migrate away from the gamefaqs board which is the most active HSG forum presently.

The game is great, especially online, but there's always room for improvement. So below are some questions and/or recommendations that would only make the HSG experience better:

Is there anyway that online tournament times can be posted ahead of time on here or any website? A weekly or even daily list of tournaments would be ideal. With G0 tournaments being relatively infrequent, it would be nice to know times in advance.

Also, many of us would like to start leagues similar to the leagues that we had for over four years on HSG:FORE through the hsgworld.com website. However, because we can not create tournament rooms as in HSG:Fore, a schedule of tournaments (primarily GF's for independent league play) would be the only way to schedule a weekly league tournament. The only other alternative for a league would be to have several real-mode rooms created with the same settings (not as ideal and sociable as everyone playing in the same GF room).

As I mentioned above, G0 tournaments are very infrequent - and there are very few during the obvious peak online times (8 pm est to 11 pm est) - Can that be ammended?

And finally, there is a lot of hypothesizing about the Level requirements for the higher ranks, namely Level 17 and up - could Clap Hanz give a summary of the level requirements

Several of us have reached out to Clap Hanz via email with no response, it's as if the Japan server is the main priority and the international server is the red-headed stepchild hehehe. Give us some love Clap Hanz, because we all love your game!

Hey BGunner,
Thanx for the awesome suggestions! We want this to be the ultimate, premiere board for HSG, so we take EVERY suggestion into account...and not only this board, but the new main fan site (hotshotsgolf.com (http://hotshotsgolf.com)) and the video site (hotshotsgolf.tv (http://hotshotsgolf.tv)).

First, tell me more about your suggestion for the Online Tournament. Could this be achieved by adding a simple calendar of some sort? Where users could add/edit their own events? We are interested in doing something for this, however we just need some direction in what the best method may be.

Secondly, as you and many other users have already discovered, Clap Hanz is pretty tight-lipped about the levels. Its one of those "G-14 Classified" things that they want players to find out on their own, ya know?

A calendar would be ideal - that way, we could plan a league schedule a week or even more ahead of time to maximize participation. If a calendar would enable the option to actually make custom settings for a tournament (not real mode) that would be even better.

As for G0's - any idea why they are so few and far between? We figure it's probably a randomly generated schedule based upon the number of players at each online grade? If it isn't, we want more! A player is lucky to be able to participate in one or two G0's a night and there are so many hours that go by without one, and there's dozens of GF's that are never filled (mainly because people new to online don't realize about scrolling the floors in the tournament list).

And I understand about the "classified" level information, just one thing that many of us found quite frustrating is that a player is "punished" for leveling up quickly - because level 17 has a 120 game requirement - many who flew through G3-G1, now need 60+ games just to get that mark. That, along with the limited schedule, makes for quite a journey to 17 land.

I appreciate your quick repsonse - we'll spread the word about the forum and see you on the links, primarily Oceania at the moment.

Piling on the suggestions...

leagues would be great...both private and public...both casual and hardcore leagues. Have some leagues that meet every night at the same time, and then also offer more casual leagues letting players meet once a week to play...

What about offering tournaments that play multiple rounds? Like the PGA tour, let 120 people enter and then after 2 rounds take the top 70 and ties to play the last 2 rounds...or even just let all players play all 4 rounds...Maybe you could design it so someone doesn't even have to play all 4 rounds at once...Simply everyone who joins the tournment plays 4 rounds with the exact set of rules and conditions as everyone else...only you have a few days to finish it.

Another cool event to see would be a match play championship? Let a large group of people sign up, pair them off in 1 vs 1 matches and keep playing single elim until the last man is left standing.

Anyway, just some thoughts...I really enjoy online play, but like Gunner has listed above, sometimes its just hard to find tournaments...About half the time I boot up the online mode only to find theres no tournaments starting within 15 minutes I can join. Thats part of why I suggested a tournament where you don't have to be online at a specific time to play...as long as you play your round before a set time.

Also, as a final point, is there any way when everyone is finished with a hole during a tournament you can have the game start a 15 second countdown to the next hole? Some of those slow tournaments are really annoying waiting a full minute or more after everyone has completed the hole to move on...

Gunner already touched upon the important issues, but here I go.

Tournament requirements for Levels 17,18,etc are flat out wrong. I got to G0 in 36 games (6 G1 wins btw), only to later find out that with my 8 wins, 10 2nds and 9 pods aren't good enough to reach Level 17 because I haven't played enough tournaments. I simply won't be able to reach Level 17 for another 30 games because of this ridiculous rule and the lack of G0 Tournament scheduling. At one point I had played less than 30 Tournaments in a month because I would come home after a long day and find out I'd have to wait until 4 AM to play a tournament, which of course wouldn't have ten people to begin with. Level 18? NEVER going to happen for me. That's 100 more games I'd need to play, at a rate of maybe one per day.

Sorry if that sounded rude, but it's very irritating that you're punishing good players who simply don't have all day to play a game. I work and have other priorities as well, unless I call in sick or leave work early, I don't have an opportunity to play unless there's a 10 PM/11PM tournament, since EST prime time seems to be a horrendous time for G0 scheduling for whatever reason.

Wouldn't it make sense that players who took fewer games to reach the top not be punished for stellar play? If not even rewarded? I know you guys want people to keep playing the game, and I certainly will, (got Alex, Gloria and Oceania if that helps <_<), but it's frustrating to see someone with the bare minimum number of wins always Level Up right after that tournament because they played 140 G1 tournaments, and me with double the amount of wins stays at Level 16 because I've only played 90-100 games total.

As I've said before, it really isn't a big deal unless there are Level requirements to play certain tournaments (PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS!).

I have to ask this as well, is there someone who actually determines the G0 scheduling? Someone I can yell at maybe? lol, j/k. I just hope it's a fault in auto scheduling, wouldn't want to think a person is responsible for that mess.

Again, if I come off as rude, just ignore it. I'm an butt and sometimes it shows. I love this game, and the vast majority of the online play, but some things are just wrong (hopefully this forum will be a good place to straighten things out).

All in all, great forum, looks like it'll be a nice place for people to voice their concerns.

My observation about the "times" of tournaments is that it's more concerned with Europe time, look at when maintenance usually occurs, usually the middle of the night Europe time.

A suggestion I know will never happen is the same I've said for awhile is to merge the Int'l and Japanese server.......each clearly has people who love the game, why not meet in the middle?

Another would be obviously some variety in G0 tournaments, just because most of the G0 players can shoot -19 on the first three courses with their eyes closed doesn't mean they wouldn't like to play them occasionally. Pump up the "add-ons" on those courses and you still have a competitive tournament..... Oki with Strong Wind and Rain and +2 Sand....Stan/Stan.....what would be wrong with that on occasion.
