I get the odd network error, the mosy annoying time being leading a tourney 3 shots clear down 18 only for it to go on my approach to the green. What i have notcied recently is 2or3 of my last 5 have all occured whilst i was typing something in between holes as the timer hit 0. My screen freezes and then i'm either pushed back to the lobby or on tonights occasion the game just froze out. Has anyone else experienced or noticed similar things happening?

Myself and yuna have both had this prob. The best thing that I figured work, was I stopped using my kb, during tourneys, and just used my controller. See if that helps your problem like it did mine

Aaaaah yes, those of us typers who cannot keep our "fingers" shut during tourneys.... if the clock has 5 seconds left, whatever you wanted to say can wait or is not worth it. It happened to me about 3 times when I noticed it was the clock reaching zero and pressing enter at the same time.... twice in game rooms, once in tournament, and once I knew it took a good two more times of freezing with the head smashing fist saying "why did i type!!!??? I knew it would freeze on me!!!!" in tournaments, that now I do not do it anymore! Just watch that clock!!!

Same thing here has happened before but tonight seems to be first time I wasnt booted at some point.. It seems to be fixed for me. Especially, during gamerooming this would happen to me.. it was maddening.. Lost a rival..... :(

I have only had 3 network errors ever.

All were a result of trying to squeeze in an extra word typing.

The chat box freezes and I have to eject the game disc to return to the XMB

I have learned my lesson. No more trying to squeeze in extra typing, it will
have to wait until next hoe or after the match.

i've done this twice myself, once in a game room, with chaoticcry and Othersgirl in and the other time early on in a tourny.
To be fair, my dad has it much worse. He Keyboard crashed it after the 18th hole just before it goes to the place confirmation screen. He was lying in second :S

I can confirm from many net errors past that typing as the timer hits zero is a very easy way to network error yourself out of a tournament. One of my worst experiences occured while leading a tournament and typing a message with XMB as the clock hit zero - I was able to return to the regular screen, but my controller was completely frozen. So I just had to sit there, in first place, paralyzed on the tee box, as time dwindled away...

Dammit, i lost out on a pod and possibly a win because of this bug!! I finally figured out why i was getting this after finding this thread, and it happening on some game rooms too.

I guess i just got learnt the lesson from now on only use the built in phrases or just stfu if less than 10 sec.

Tonight i was in the middle of a match game when this happened as well, so if it happens the other person presses X for next hole while you're trying to type something... :(

Try the chat rooms, they are even worse for random crashes.

I had about 10 of those, i think it happens only when using green pencil. I'm using a keyboard now (red pencil) and i have no problems.

Interesting. I am certain they patched the game so that you can't continue typing within 3 seconds of moving on to the next hole. I lost several pods (using a keyboard) because of this glitch and was so thankful they patched it. I guess it still happens.

I know in match game rooms (and I'm guessing stroke as well) you can chat right up to the time the game host decides to move to the next hole; and my game has frozen because of it.

I've can honestly say I have never had a n/err because I'm typing when the timer runs out, the input bar just disappears mid type and on we go. Maybe you need to be near the top of the leader board :o

Well, it disappears with about 3 secs to go. It used to let you type all the way until the game switched to the next screen. In those cases, it would sometimes freeze your PS3(not really a network error, at least from what I've experienced). It's been patched for over a year, but it can still happen in game rooms when the host presses X to move to the next hole. Didn't know it was still occuring in tours. :(

It's happened a few times to me using the controller so it's not just a keyboard thing.

i think it happens only when using the controller (green pencil).

nope has happened to me in red pencil 3 times in tours with the controller .. one of them i was winning with one hole left ughhh .. most definately still an issue and if they haven't fixed it by now expect it to stay for the duration of time we have left

I know that it happens when i attempt to send the thing i'm typing by pressing start start when this happens.

I guess the controller isn't the best for entering text.

I suppose if i was using a keyboard, i could type things faster so i wouldn't run into the last second messages.

So if you see me on, and i'm quiet its not that i'm trying to be anti-social, it's just i'm afraid it will freeze on me. :o

haven't read a thing in this thread but i can tell you about an almost guaranteed nwe (do this to your friends for a goof):

right before a tournament begins, ask someone a question. if they try typing with like 1 or 2 seconds before the screen dims and loads up hole 1, poof. game over. done it myself a few times and learned my lesson. toss up a 'Good luck!' with 10 secs to go and continue your convo af ter the first hole is over.
