Yes, game will play fine on PS3.

The game itself, depending on where you get it from, will probably end up paying between $40-50.

The entire game is in japanese, hardly any english at all, if any. However, the menu navigations are almost identical, so its just a matter of remembering what they were in english, and/or trial and error, click and see if its what you want. If it isn't, click something different next time.

The biggest pain in the butt is not understanding what the special rules are for each of their tournaments. HOWEVER, Mason put together a priceless translation guide that will help to decipher what rules are in place: http://www.hotshotsgolf.com/community/showthread.php?t=448

I haven't been on in several months, but it was like night and day.....it was busting at the seams with players, so i'm sure its not much different. Their (Japanese) take on the HSG series of games is like ours on the Madden series. So i'm sure there will still be plenty of people there.

Minna is so much fun and the japanese are very tough. you can see 1000 + people on the weekend and very decent 200 + or more on weekday. One thing you should know is Minna G3 players can shoot -20 -24 highland and okinawa.

I often play early in the morning [ Mountain time USA ] 500 + people is normal.

Most USA players hang out in 1 1 4 lobby. [ Me: 1 1 7 ]

Good luck have fun good speed good P I ;)

I've been playing minna almost everyday for the last 18 months or so. If you enjoy playing with 1500+ or having multiple tours to choose from that are usually full 50 people, you may enjoy minna.

The server is still very busy, though once I did see only 250 or so online, it was a holiday in Japan.

It's all in Japanese as was mentioned, but super easy to memorize , for me at least. I have found plenty of bilingual players, as I never attend the western lobbies, I got hsg for that.

Personally I have found that they are very modest, they don't brag or boast. Often they will hide any trophies won or enter a gf to get rid of it. I have personally witnessed this many times.

Hope to see you there, I am always in 1-1-1

Minna is great, playing with thousands is totally awesome. Very good tour selection with them being mostly full. After playing both versions , HSG feels very dumbed down.

OH, and i forgot to mention, in addition to the cost of the game, be prepared to cough up another 20-30 bucks on new courses, new characters, and new outfits (if you are into those sort of things). Because the ones you bought for OOB don't apply to Minna, you have to buy them all again.

And to add insult to injury, you've got to go through the pain in the rear of getting a Japanese PSN card charged up with YEN, then make a purchase through the Japanese PSN store (http://www.hotshotsgolf.com/community/showthread.php?t=5206).....I think that was the biggest beating for me, but it was well worth it in the end.

Just out of interest what size card would you need for say just the 2 courses and the extra characters?

I purchased mine last december, and the courses were 800yen each, and the characters were 500yen each. So you can do the conversion from there, hope that helps.

Cheers Morph

I guess that would be 1600 for the courses and 2000 for the chars (I beleive the little cat like thing was a freebie). That said if there are that many tours I guess you get away without buying say Krapos and Gloria. Reckon you could do the rest with a 3000 yen card thus "only" doubling the cost of the game

Question is do I really want to spend over £70 for a game I already own just so I can tour on a Saturday morning?????

There are a lot of people online (the fewest I've seen is 400), althoguh I usually rock up for the evening sessions (my morning/ early afternoon). It is a nightmare to get the loyalty of players up, because gamerooms just aren't as appealing, and there are always tours on the bubble. It is competitive, largely by virtue of the numbers involved, not by the excess of talent. I picked my way through G3 and G2 without too much difficulty, and now find myself happily lodged in G1, securing enough points to maintain my grade, without really troubling promotion, as my loyalty sucks. You need loyalty on a larger variety of players, because of the variety of tours. Yes, there are LJ only, Bloom only, Maruyama only and all that jazz. G1 is ultra-competitve, because of the numbers, and the established G0 players that have a form dip (they need 2 pods in 20 to stay G0) and appear in G1. I was second to lvl20 (Mr.) the other day. I do find it a slightly soulless experience, and it makes me realise how much the people I play HSG with make such a difference to the game.

Very well said! I have thought something to that effect before, but didn't know how to put it into words.

Yeah that's down side. you have to spend another $ 70 or more for all DLC but if you like touring and don't mind so much about the social side of the game it's worth it.

Many people went to Minna only to be overwhelmed by the japanese players. Often times one par = no pod in 50 people tour.
