currently, this is the list of peeps i don't have
iceman, sasquatch, rd139, smuguy, guapo, superpal, jeffster, kbongg, iceberg, chris, jmod, nathy, nandi, marrow, gaz, op, rage, clint, gianluca, tama, brett, frog. the others are either gone or don't want to be involved.

i won't be posting a comprehensive list for the power rankings, but this is at least a list of win% for most level 20s.

I should really take a look around these forums more. Just found this tonight.
Is that just a win % next to my name? Just curious as to the formula for the rankings.

I never did the math beyond knowing I get a pod aprox every 4/5 games. Very cool that you do power rankings. lol We have confirmed I am a rather weak lvl 20. I look at that list and it's rather bang on with my personal opinions of others skill sets. But let me say all lvl 20's have skills as winning 30 GO tours is not possible with luck alone.

nah dreams, i just kinda decided to give it up. not a lot of interest. no biggie, but it's a lot of work for 4 or 5 people to see. i still have all the numbers here.

and thanks keys, everything you need to know about the formula and justification for it is in previous power rankings. wins x win% x pod%= power ranking. i've seen you stepping it up lately.

Thanx plum. I have improved from my first 1000 go games. I wish I had tracked my progress but alas I am too lazy. I know I had only 10 GO wins when I had aprox 1000 games played. Now nearing 2000 games played I have 65 wins. So I have improved.

peaks and valleys is absolutely correct. i documented my first 1500 games or so to keep me focused. it seemed to help.

I totaly get the obsession.

When I was cracked out on my 2K hockey leagues (they were full 30 man leagues,full 82 games amd full playoffs, a draft, trades etc). I was always stat tracking, picking apart the game like you would'nt believe. The good thing was the 2k site kept track of every stat imaginable.

It would be nice if the HSG game kept more stats. I would love to know how often I am hiting greens in reg. What my average scores are. I could go on and on. That would be iceing on the cake because as is HSGOOB is video game gold.

oh, i completely agree. it gives you plenty of goals to shoot for. it takes you back to 'the old days' when people had tecmo bowl leagues completely written out by hand.

it is an awesome game and an incredible community.

Keys, I am surprised you only had 10 G0 wins through your first 1000 games as I see you as a relatively strong player. I have 13 wins through 880 games, so maybe there's hope for my next 1,200 tours. :eek:

VT your very good we are just surrounded by robots :).

If you check my first ever post I introduced myself and had aprox 700 games played with 7 wins. lol I was good for a win every 100 games.

I don't know when I turned a corner and like I said peaks and valleys, but I have been better of late on a more consistent basis.Early on in my GO career I would go countless 40 game blocks without a win and be near demotion on a regular basis. I averaged a pod (mostly 3rd place) every 15 games for a long time.

I think just sheer volume of play has helped. I have gotten to know every little nook on every course. Also my pi average has easily doubled since my first few hundered GO games. Another huge thing I have noticed is I have gotten a million times better at downhill putts. For the longest time I had a mental block with downhill putts. Something clicked in my brain one day and I am almost as good at downhill putts as I am uphill. Add it up and I have gotten better.

Meh it's all good though, I could be terrible and still play. Winning is nice but I like the challenge of improving personal bests and this game is relaxing and holds my attention.

WOW that paper is crazy. This makes me want to keep track of my blocks of 40 to see how i'm doing. Awesome though and that shows dedication :D

Reams of paper ftw. Reminds me of my endless fun playing Premier Manager on the Mega Drive, and even LMA on PS2, where I would keep track of purchases and sales, goals scored and appearences. Stats rule.
