Finally got the game. Love it - just like all the others before.

Played for a couple days and I am at level 8.

Just wanting to know how the online stuff works. Main questions are

1: Am I only able to play with what I have unlocked when online?

2: I have a hard time finding tournaments that have enought people.
What is the best time to be on?

Hoping to be able to play some forum tourneys and other things.

1. Yes what you unlock during challenge mode is what you get to use online that includes all the characters except for downloadable content (DLC) Alex, Gloria, Kratos, Toro & Sackboy. Also Oceania & G-REX courses.

Clubs & Balls also need to be unlocked

2. G3 is tough to find players these days 7-9PM EST on weekdays is probably your best bet on finding 10 people to play but sometimes you can find others with 2nd G3 accounts to help with numbers. Weekends are a little better and since Christmas there has been a small spike in users online but nothing like it used to be unfortunately.

Welcome, rd! Let us know if you need help finding G3 players to tour with you. Weekends are also a good time to for people to be on. Early afternoon on a Saturday (and maybe Sunday) should be pretty solid since you get the overlap of Europe and North American players. Good luck!

Of late, there have been swarms of players during our evening (2pm -6pm EST). Amongst those have been a healthy quotient of G3s. The only problem being is that it doesn't take long to get out of G3 (in theory). Welcome to the game and the site. Enjoy both.
