I've noticed this site now has ads on it, and to be honest, I'm not digging this. Why were they added?

I am not liking them either Clay. Hopefully Morph can explain to us why they are on here?!?

Well, I assume it costs money to run this site, it would be understandable to get it through placing ads. They are not really bothering me, Ive seen much, much more annoying.

Yeah Miill, the ads on Gamefaqs are more annoying, especially the moving ads. They slow that site down considerably and make the blinking cursor flash insanely fast. Glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like this, although the money reason is understandable.

The video ads on the top page of You Tube causes error for the Safari web browser I use. There are ads on another forum I belong to, so I'm used to it.

I think the ads make it look a little tacky, but then again every site does it so what are you going to do :)

I just started playing ghostbusters and I ran into a doritos vending machine, lol its everywhere

I'm ok as long as they are not intrusive. If it's to help the site it's fine with me.

Don't forget that Google has long and spindly and grasping fingers...

I have no idea why they are there either???

Could be a software deal, but I think it is great if Morph gets advertising on here. It would certainly help keep the site alive and well. Lets not forget, google is the #1 search engine too, so having a google-ship would be very benificial to the site!

It's about damn time we get add on here. anything that help this site is more than welcome. Good job guys.

Add: it'd be nice if we get more adds and more traffic. maybe Claphanz would recognize the voices of N America and Euro players more. This can lead to more petition for better schedule/ prize and over all concern.

That could work.

You know, with all due respect, I'm still not digging these ads. If you ask me, it slows the site down considerably, especially when I try to go from one place to another.

The only thing that loads slowly for me is the home page, but thats because I don't have good ISP right now.

Interesting comments on both sides of the fence.

I added the google ads over the weekend. Trying to get a little creative in financially supplementing some of the current and future activities here: prizes for events, current upgrades (HSGTube for example), and future upgrades that have yet to be announced :D. So bear with me/us as new things are tried.

And as far as the ads themselves that are currently being displayed, honestly they are hardly intrusive at all. I toyed with some bigger ones, but settled on just the text lines at the top and the banner at the bottom for now. If i find that its not generating any revenue for the site, then i'll scrap it. If it is, then you may see more, that simple.

How does that work Morpheus? If members just click on the link does it start to create a revenue stream or is there more to it than that because we could probably help you out if that is all we need to do.

I'll click on some links if it helps the site out. I don't think they are that bad.
The ones on the bottom are kind of funny some of them anyways.

The ad for Hot Shots Golf Cheats is really funny :)

Lol, one of the ads I just saw on top was an ad for the WAC Message Board. Flare, you put that ad there to talk about how good Boise State is? ;)

I'd probably click on every add (everyday) if it would open a another tab or window instead of taking me away for HSG.com :D

So do we need to just click on the link on the site or do we need to click on a link the link takes us to or do we need to click on a link that a link takes us to from the link the site takes us to?

I hope these ads are helping bcuz if they aren't, I will politely say get rid of the ads. They're making this site run slowly over here at my end.

How are they slowing ANYTHING down? They're just Links.
Same thing as we put in our posts all the time.

I think it's your internet connection fluctuating.
Regular links with nothing else..... certainly shouldn't affect your speed.

The ads are fine.

I'll take a look at them, click on something LOL.
But generally it's all golf stuff.... The "play hot shots golf" one is at least relevant....
But umm, we already have the game :P

Ads are the wallpaper of life. You can choose to notice them, or generally let them pass. I can't say I've noticed them a lot, although seeing this thread at the top again has made me look. Damn it, Clay, you made me a tool of insidious corporate warfare.

i click on them all the time.
sometimes the last thing i do at night is click on an ad so it stays on there all night.
Hopes it helps raise revenue.
