Quick Intro

Hi all,

I'm excited I have stumbled upon an actual community for HSG:OOB! I have been playing a ton of HSG: OOB for about a month now. I know I'm really late to the party here and most of the online community has vanished. But for the few die-hards that remain, I just wanted to introduce myself and I also hope to play with you online sometime.

Currently, I am only a G1 and now that I finally figured out the tournament ranking structure, I am hoping to play many of them to advance. The only trouble I seem to be having is finding novice tourneys with 10+ people. There aren't too many anymore and if a weeknight is considered "prime time", I still see less than 50 people on most occasions.

Anyway, I can only assume most of the people on this site are G2 or better. I hope to catch up as soon as possible to play some tourneys and pickup games with everyone!

Welcome. Since I started playing last Spring (WTF - has is it been that long?) it seems the online community has died a bit. My advice would just to jump into any available G1 tourney (and not just novice) where there are ten or more people. Also, if you haven't acquired and of the DLCs, it is best to get Sack, Toro, Alex, and Gloria. They will be used fairly frequently should you make it to G0. Good luck!

Perhaps you might be confused, and mean G3....

I apoligize if that is not the case but G1 shouldn't be too difficult to find peeps.

If you are stuck in G3 we can help you get out.
Many people have alternate accounts just to help out in a case like this.

If you are in G1 then by all means send me a friend request cause that's where I am now. I can jump on if you need someone to tour with.

Ah yes, I made a mistake regarding my level and I am currently at G3. Unfortunately for the past week, I have been in a brutal slump playing golf; too many pars and no where near enough birdies. I think the actual tournaments are making me nervous! My personal best on Highland is -17, but when I join a tournament I'm only managing ~-10. Very frustrating!

I appreciate the character suggestions and I will definitely look into it. Currently, I use Novice - Sophie, Intermediate - Felipe, and Expert - Anya. I will certainly download Sack tonight and start using him. Hopefully this change of scenery will help me break out of this slump. I wonder if the real pro golfers get this frustrated when the ball just can't find the cup hole after hole!

Thanks for the offer of assistance to get out of G3. Right now, I think I will try to grind it out and hopefully attain G2 in the normal manner. At this point, it's a matter of pride!

I hope to play with you guys in the higher level tourneys sooner than later!

No problem with the pride stance, it is rather difficult to find 10 G3's though.
It's just an option to assist if you ever feel like you'll never get out we would rather help then have someone quit because the server is rather bare.

Tours can be challenging especially when you know that you have played better.

Just keep practicing and using the characters you are most comfortable with.

Sackboy & Toro will mess with you cause they are so small and use a different swing zone.
You'll need them later on but not right away.

You can still send me a friend request on PSN and I'll play some gamerooms with you.
I am not the best golfer around but I can try to give you tips on course management and stuff like that.

Well, I just tried SackBoy and entered a tournament with him with a Loyalty 0. I came in 2nd place (lost out on 1st due to points).
