I think my computer took a dump on me.. We had a thunder storm that knocked out power here, and I'm guessing it fried my PC. The Only way I can post now is by my PS3, and PSP.

If you're lucky, only the power supply of the computer is dead. Those aren't terribly expensive to exchange. They are a bit tiresome to exchange, though, since you have to unplug and later replug ALL of the power wires within the computer.

I wouldn't know where to start with that. I'm find getting around a computer----but not around the computer's innards. :/

Sorry gypsy, that sucks!

What Cartman said, hopefully just a replacement power supply needed. All the cables will hopefully be bundled into a single plug so no biggy changing over.

Wow, that's rare for a desktop to get fried. At least if you had it hooked up to a surge-protector. Changing the power supply should be pretty easy and fairly cheap. Just be sure to get one that has enough power for all the stuff in your rig (a rookie mistake I made when I built my last computer).

does a flashing power light means the power supply is bad?

Is the fans running? If so the power supply is probably not bad, and the problem is worse; probably a fried main board, RAM slots or CPU. Figuring that out is a WHOLE different story... :(

If there was any tremor along with the thunder you could be lucky, that something in there is just slightly out of position and just needs to get tucked back into space, though...
