View Full Version : Minna question

I come home from 2 wks in the sun and find the carnage of the PSN issue. All is not lost though, it's a long weekend and my copy of Minna has arrived so I figured I'd use the downtime to unlock all the bits and bobs. I now have all 6 courses and all 15 characters (no dlc yet) but I don't have the Big Mag Special club for Experts!!!!! I look through the prizes list and see that I have 9 Turbo Spin, 9 Big Air, 9 Infinity, 8 Big mag and 10 Pin hole????? wtf is that about?

I don't think I ever use Big mag with any experts so no great hardship, just wondered if anyone else had the same issue?

I might trash my game save anyway as buliding loyatly seems to take much longer than I remember and after 3 days I have 1 at 12 and the other 14 at 4, 5 or 6

Did you complete all challenges? Dont forget you can scroll left/right.
Not sure, but I thought you need also to defeat the end-bosses 3-0

C'mon Miill m8 I'm not a newb ;), I did all the challenges and beat all the end-bosses in utter destruction. I selected the top left card every time (maybe my disregard for the random selection has cost me). Oh well dodgy game save it is.

Just my luck as well, I was planning on shared dlc but I bet the new PSN upgrade means if you log on from another PS3 or location you get a temp lock and remider question hell :(

When I did minna there was no ghost ball for chipping or overhead view for putting untill I went on line and got the updates. Don't remember if big mag was there or not.

All the updates activate even without PSN, and it only takes 6 hours.

Still got the update fun to go, along with the new patch that will no doubt be needed when we are finally up and running. Have done all of it so far without overhead putting or the magic chipping dot! Try a 5yd Nando chip with no dot, ooooh what fun :(

Maybe wont have to wait until 5pm this Saturday for a tour eh?

Nando's my Intermediate rain man, that said Minna doesn't have rain tours so once I have Alex I suspect he will gather dust for ever!

Plenty of opportunity for character-specific tours. Bloom, Suzuki, Bjorn... Most don't fill though, even if they're next cab off the rank. No Highland, no comment seems to be the Minna way.

Last time I was on Minna, there was a 9h Oceana tour, normal speed, any character, normal wind etc. There were 'hundreds' of people online, and they all snubbed the Oceana tour to wait 50 mins+ for the next highland tours..
I don't get it!

They don't fall over a cliff to play the next one, which can be annoying. And there are virtually nothing but normal speed tours. Fast tours are as rare as normal timer tours are on ours.

MasonR

They avoid shitty conditions if they can, or even if they can't, sometimes people just don't show for a tour.

Yes the timers are ridiculous as well. Get used to 30+ minutes for 9 hole games. My biggest issue with playing Minna by far. -_-

Still though, when there isn't a tour on HSG you can probably find one on Minna.

At 08:15 this morning neither my normal account or my Japanese account would log in (yes I am that sad that I checked before heading to work :o).

I dunno about that.... From the past few months during my occasional games on HSG it seems like there are more and more normal tours than ever... Still nothing like a SLOW G0 tour on minna :) Good times.

This is also true. There are phases when we have no choice but to take on a normal tour. Still, it gives me time to peel my potatoes in between holes.

What are you doing! The peel is the most nutritious part of the potato.

That's the one. Although, with the offspring away, I don't bother with mash so I don't bother with peeling, 'twas just a phrase. I don't wash my lettuce either. Am I just a bad man?

For roast use thin peel potatoes. Mashed are very good with the skins, add buttermilk and garlic for a truly mouth watering treat.

Buttermilk isn't that common in the UK - Instead we use butter, and milk..

I'm not doubting you Stan but unfortunatly Aunt Bessie takes the skins off at the roast spud factory and I suspect 60% of my family would screw their faces up and make funny ewwwwwwww noises if their mash had any kind of lumpage in it :o.

No skins, a splash of milk, a medium/large knob of butter and 10 minutes of masher action for our mash.

I understand the aversion to those lumps. Once you get past the mental image of those lumps being bugs or other unidentifiable bits and bobs, such as a lost bandage or...... your tastebuds will thank you.

Indeed I'm in the 40% that will try anything, it does sound very nice. The 60% have the majority decision though so lump free it is

Lump free ftw! Although i too, will try most things...

So what's the wierdest/most unusual thing anyone's tried then?

Nothing that exciting from me, however a lot of people turn their nose up to crunchy peanut butter on toast iwth baked beans on top :o

My wife once made this dish called hopping john. It had kidney beans, some sort of meat and various spices. It was downright nasty tasting. I tried to give it to the neighbors dog and he barked at me. Still gives me chills when I think about it.

Having found Reggae Reggae sauce quite pleasurable we tried one of Levi Roots cooking sauces. It was f*****g gross. If I ever bump into Mr Roots I will be making sure his sauce doesn't see the light of day for an awfully long time! :( My wife still apologises for the s**t she served up that day even though it wasn't her fault, bless her :).

Actually she is the new one. In her defense the recipe came from a cookbook and she was the first to vomit. For the most part she is a very good cook (you should try her mashed potatoes) as my pot belly is a testiment to it.

I dare to say that the quality or type of the potato makes more of a difference as to how it tastes than whether or not it's peeled.

But I agree with the general consensus: butter makes everything taste like an orgasm...

... That's a good thing.

When I lived in France, the guy who's house I was staying with was checking out the supermarket for alternate varieties of potato. I thought he was mad.

I have my cousin cooking for me today, and it's gonna be spag bol. However, they think it's a masterplan of cookery to empty the World's supply of Thyme, Basil and Oregano into it. If you're wondering why herb prices are through the roof, it's because we have them all here. Either way, I end up smelling of a herb garden for the next three days. Yuk.

Trust me dims, it makes all the difference. Composition varies and different kinds are suited for different dishes, like soups vs. tin foiled in the grill, for instance. But my priority is the flavor. It can either ruin or make your meal.

I'm having something similar to this tonight! Except the mince meat is rolled into balls, and hey presto Italian Meatballs and spaghetti!

I know, Pops, that it makes a differnece. You have the waxy ones and the crumbly ones. Personally I'll take on a potato of any variety in whatever form. They are my staple diet. Because of lack of resources in the fridge, I once had boiled potatoes with salad cream and tomato ketchup. That night, I was the Galloping Gourmet.

Ok so there is more to life than golf, today I have earned my vacuuming*, dish washing, hedge trimming, planting, moving garden ornaments and knackering my back trophies (I bottled the ironing trophy, it was just too hard).

My conclusion to all this is that real life sucks, bring back me golf now!!!!!!

I live in Singapore but my Japanese account does not seem to have access to the Japan PSN store any more. My basic grasp of written Japanese leads me to believe that as I am not in the country, then I cannot access the store.

Could access it ok before the hack - but not now.
