Unhappy Why is Okinawa so mean to me? - 02-23-2010

I'm still trying to gain all the equipment I can, but Okinawa is causing me fits. The first nine holes (out) I have no problem with, but the last nine holes (in) are so brutal to me. I can't even get a birdie to save my grandma! Par here, par there, every time a par, and an occasional bogey every so often. And I'm using Kratos for Fs sake! Nearly 300 yard tee shots and I still can't get birdies and eagles (or better). I always use advanced swing and I've even figured out the rabbit technique (idk if turtle is any good or not). I can never seem to figure out the harsh winds too. I keep practicing and training, but I'm not getting any better. This course hates me.

Try with a different character with higher control. Kratos's distance is great, but distance is not everything. Try with a character with S control and see if you can figure out the back 9 better then.

Oh, and on some holes on the back 9 of Okinawa it's wise to club DOWN on the tee shot rather than powering up. Like I said; distance is not everything. On any hole other than 18 you do definitely not need a maxed out 1W to be able to reach the green in two. Try looking for safe landing spots a little closer if the 1W landing spot gives you trouble...

Keep plugging away, Oki is not as easy as a second course should be.
The lines on the greens are deceiving. Hitting 300yds will not always
help your cause either. Rabbits are way easier to hit than turtles too.

Another question. On my tee shot, I press the triangle button to zoom in on my landing spot (the cursor if that's what it's called). Why does the cursor color keep changing from blue, yellow, and orange? What do these landing cursor colors represent?

Slopes are represented by the colour change.

Can't recall which colour means what at the moment but you'll see next time you play

Well thats what you get for playing OB and OT2 at the same time.

Another landing cursor color: red. Do these colors also represent OBs, unplayables, and other hazards? Yes Rowdy, I know you said slopes, but I'm still not sure if these also represent something else.

Red means up hill slopes blue means down hill slopes, this is also the same for the lye % (if there is one) Red is a slight up hill, blue means down hill. I think with a red % means there's a less chance of a "bonk" shot higher yardage clubs from some hazards.

As for me doing OT2 and OOB at the same time, I did win 1 G0 tour in OT2. But think it cursed me after words.

So I'm guessing yellow means no slope. I've also seen an orange cursor. Unless I'm colorblind, what does orange mean?

As for yesterday, I will admit, I was on a roll. When it's your day, it's your day I guess.
